By Road
From Delhi (Approx. 220km)
Haridwar is about a 5–6 hour drive from Delhi via National Highway 334. Both government (UTC, UPSRTC) and private buses operate frequently from ISBT Kashmere Gate, offering regular, deluxe, and Volvo services throughout the day and night.
From Dehradun (Approx. 50km)
Haridwar is well-connected to Dehradun by a smooth highway drive of approximately 1.5 hours. Regular taxis, shared cabs, and buses (both government and private) are available from the Dehradun ISBT and major junctions.
By Train
Haridwar is well-connected to both Delhi and Dehradun by frequent daily trains. Popular options include the Jan Shatabdi Express, Mussoorie Express, and NDLS–Dehradun Shatabdi. Travel time is approximately 4 to 6 hours from Delhi, and under 2 hours from Dehradun, depending on the train service chosen.
By Air
Nearest Airport: Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun)
Located approximately 40 km from Haridwar, Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest air gateway to the city.
Direct flights from Indira Gandhi International Airport (Delhi) are available regularly. From Jolly Grant, Haridwar can be reached by taxi or shuttle in about 1 hour.
Getting to Nirmal Ashraya
Nirmal Ashraya is located on the Haridwar–Laksar Road, approximately 6.4 km from the Haridwar Railway Station and bus stand.
- Local city buses towards Laksar are available every 30 minutes from the Haridwar bus stand, operating between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
- Private mini-buses to Laksar also run regularly from Shankar Ashram, Avadoot Mandal, and Singh Dwar, starting early in the morning until 8:00 PM.
- Shankar Ashram is easily accessible by shared auto from Haridwar Railway Station or bus stand, available throughout the day.
